Mark decided to establish Porteous Funeral Directors as he felt there was a lack of Independent Funeral Directors in Edinburgh. He has been disappointed by the number of Funeral Directors opening branches in Edinburgh who are not locally owned. The company is a member of SAIF (National Society of Allied & Independent Funeral Directors) as a member of SAIF they are required to abide by the code of practice laid down by the association.
Mark works with his wife Yvonne, son Grant, and a small dedicated team of staff, who between them, have many years experience within the funeral profession. All their staff are committed to offering families the best possible service and take seriously their responsibilities of caring and helping families at a difficult and sad time.
With two further branches of Porteous Funeral Directors to open by July 2011, Mark believes his family are well placed to continue to build on their reputation of offering their families excellent service and care.

Porteous Funeral Directors was formed by Mark Porteous. Mark has over 20 years experience working within the Edinburgh Funeral Profession and previously owned Adam Cramond & Son Funeral Directors located at Goldenacre and Ferry Road in Edinburgh.
